ALL THAT ZAZZ

The Rainbow and putting color in your life

Ciao bella,

The idea of colors interacting with one another in complementary and contrasting ways can be looked back to the 1600s and the invention of the color wheel. Sir Isaac Newton who was a mathematical genius invented the color wheel which demonstrated the spectrum of colored light found in white sunlight. The colors in a wheel form were based off colors shown when white sunlight was shown through a prism. The different shades the wheel divides are categorized in four categories-primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary colors and complementary colors.

Since the day of Aristotle man has speculated on the properties of color. Newton’s color wheel proved successful theories for modern day. Scientists have studied how we see and read color and how humans are affected by color. In Western societies colors hold symbolic meaning such as purity, cleanliness and neutrality. Whereas in Eastern culture color is used to symbolize death and mourning.

The color red is theorized to have the strongest impact on humans. As noted red is used as warning signs. Like the lady in the red dress! ha,ha!

So knowing colors can have a significant impact on humans, you can use color to enhance your life. Use it in your make-up, nail polish, wardrobe etc. The use of color also will emit a certain mood and aura. Use it to attract a friendship, a relationship or even a job. So put some of the rainbow in your life and feel beautiful.

I’d like to wish all a very happy and healthy 4th of July! Celebrate our country’s independence with red, white and blue.

Buona giornata, and God bless the United States of America!
