Happy New Year 2009

Ciao bella,

Here’s wishing all my beauty readers and my colleagues at the Post-Gazette a happy and healthy New Year.

As Christmas Eve (and my birthday) winds down into a peaceful sleep, I realize that the true road to beauty is to try as much as possible to live a life without stress.

In the New Year shake it off your shoulders and it will keep the chips off. Kick stress out the door and you’ll feel less clutter in your life. Think of only the good things you have and don’t dwell on the negative rhythms—the music will be peaceful. Release the elements of what would harbor anger, anguish, and angst, and happiness will follow.

I wish I could bottle these words of wisdom passed down from my nana. That would be a vintage we could all enjoy in the New Year and every year.
